Aubrac
Idea for a discovery tour of the North of the Aveyron department.
Departing from the hotel restaurant Gardy, this circuit will allow you to discover the emblematic landscapes of the Aubrac plateau, the summer pastures with their buron but also villages with the typical Aubrac architecture of basalt and granite. A circuit between 1000 and 1400 m altitude.
You can also stop at Bozouls and Espalion
To note: St Urcize: Romanesque church of the 12th century. Old medieval village with in the center of the village a point of view on all Aubrac since the rock of the virgin.
Nasbinals: Romanesque church from the 11th century, village stage on the way to St Jacques de Compostelle The Lakes Route: Stop at the Déroc waterfall (33m high with a cave at its foot overhung with basalt organs), then along the lakes of Salhiens, St Andéol and Born.
Aubrac: Domerie church, 12th century, Tour des Anglais, 14th century and 15th century Hospital. To discover: The Maison de l’Aubrac and the Botanical Garden of Aubrac.
St Chély d’Aubrac: Built along the Boralde Valley, to discover: the Pont des pélerins, classified as a World Heritage Site Cultural Property under the Ways of Compostela, the church with its double stands and its altarpiece, washhouses and half-timbered houses.
